Bitget Restricted Countries 2026: Germany, France and the Full List
Bitget's Terms of Use name the countries it does not serve. Where Germany, Austria and France stand, what changed in 2026, and what the terms say about travel and VPNs.
- Bitget's Terms of Use, last updated 14 August 2026, name the Prohibited Countries: the United States, Canada, Austria, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia and Singapore, plus sanctioned jurisdictions.
- Germany: new sign-ups from Germany have been closed since 16 January 2026, and Bitget says it will tell existing German users in advance about any further change.
- France: Bitget ended its services for French users on 31 March 2026. The AMF had blacklisted bitget.com since November 2023 and removed it from that list on 9 July 2026.
- The terms rule out VPNs explicitly, and losing access can mean losing control of open positions.
- Where Bitget is allowed, the regular futures taker fee is 0.06%, or 0.042% after 30% cashback.
Most lists of Bitget's restricted countries copy each other and are a year out of date. The one that counts is a single sentence in Bitget's Terms of Use. Here is that sentence, what it means for traders in Germany, Austria and France, and the dates that changed the picture in 2026.
Which countries does Bitget restrict?
Bitget does not serve users in its Prohibited Countries, a list in its Terms of Use that names the United States, Canada, Austria, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia and Singapore. The Terms of Use, last updated on 14 August 2026, add sanctioned jurisdictions such as Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk.
The definition opens with "the following countries and such other locations as designated by Bitget from time to time". The list can grow without notice, which is why a screenshot from last year is not a reliable answer. The US case is covered in detail in our guide to Bitget in the US.
Prohibited Countries means the following countries and such other locations as designated by Bitget from time to time, including Austria, Canada, Crimea, Cuba, Donetsk, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Luhansk, Malaysia, North Korea, Singapore, Sudan, the United States (including the following U.S. Territories: Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa and the Northern Mariana Islands and the following U.S. Minor Outlying Islands Baker Island, Howland Island, Jarvis Island, Johnston Atoll, Kingman Reef, Midway Islands, Navassa Island, Palmyra Atoll and Wake Island), Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Afghanistan, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Lebanon, Somalia and South Sudan.

Can you use Bitget in Germany?
Not as a new user. Bitget closed sign-ups from Germany on 16 January 2026, and Germany is a Prohibited Country in its terms. In the same notice, Bitget said it will inform existing German users in advance about any further change to their accounts.
Bitget holds no MiCA license. It has applied for authorisation in Austria, which is itself on the prohibited list, so there is no regulated EU route to Bitget's derivatives today. Existing German users who want to move their assets can follow the steps in our Bitget withdrawal guide.
Is Bitget banned in France?
Bitget no longer serves France. It ended its services for French users on 31 March 2026, after closing French sign-ups on 16 January. The French regulator had been explicit before that: the AMF blacklisted bitget.com on 7 November 2023 for providing crypto services in France without registration, and repeated the warning in April 2024.
On 9 July 2026, after Bitget had left the French market, the AMF removed bitget.com from its crypto blacklist. That removal does not reopen France: the country is still a Prohibited Country in Bitget's own terms.
- 7 November 2023The AMF blacklists bitget.com for serving France without registration.
- 3 April 2024The AMF reminds the public that Bitget is blacklisted and reserves the right to have the site blocked.
- 16 January 2026Bitget closes new sign-ups from Germany and France.
- 31 March 2026Bitget ends its services for French users.
- 1 July 2026The EU's MiCA transition period ends. Serving EU clients now requires a MiCA license.
- 9 July 2026The AMF removes bitget.com from its crypto blacklist.
Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and the rest of Asia
Five Asian markets are on the list: Hong Kong, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia and Singapore. Japan is the newest exit. Bitget stopped Japanese registrations on 3 August 2026 and will close remaining positions from 31 December, as covered in Bitget is leaving Japan.
Countries that the clause does not name, such as India, Indonesia, Vietnam or the Philippines, are not excluded by Bitget's terms. Local regulators can still take their own view, so check your country's rules as well as Bitget's.
What happens if you use Bitget from a restricted country?
Access can be blocked, and the terms forbid working around it. The Terms of Use say that if you travel to a Prohibited Country, the services may not be available and access may be blocked, which can affect your ability to monitor or manage open positions. They add that you must not try to circumvent the restriction, including with a VPN that changes your IP address.
The practical risk is not the login screen. It is a leveraged position you can no longer reach while the market moves. Bitget also reserves the right to terminate access immediately. If you are moving to a listed country, plan your exit before you move, not after.
- 1You open Bitget from a Prohibited Country, at home or while travelling
- 2The services may be unavailable and your access may be blocked
- 3Open orders and positions can be out of reach while the market moves
- 4Using a VPN to get around the block is forbidden by the terms
Bitget reserves the right to terminate access to an account immediately.

The Trade Reclaim research desk tracks fee schedules, VIP thresholds and market access rules across the 9 exchanges we cover. Every figure here comes from an exchange's own terms or a regulator's own filing, checked on the date of publication, because a rate copied from a comparison site is a rate nobody verified.
Trade Reclaim earns from exchange referrals and shares most of it back to you as cashback. Education, not financial advice.
