MEXC vs Bybit Fees 2026: Spot, Futures and the Net Rate

MEXC is cheaper on every regular row, Spot Maker included, where it charges nothing at all. Then the net after cashback, and what the cheap table does not cover.

Key takeaways
  • Regular Spot Maker is 0% on MEXC and 0.10% on Bybit. Spot Taker is 0.05% against 0.10%.
  • Regular Futures Maker is 0.01% on MEXC and 0.0200% on Bybit. Futures Taker is 0.04% against 0.055%.
  • MEXC wins every regular row. It is the cheapest standard table of the ten venues we cover.
  • Trade Reclaim returns 30% of trading fees on both, so the ranking survives the rebate.
  • The fee table is not the whole cost. Spread on thin altcoin pairs moves more money than this gap.

Open and close a 50,000 USDT Futures position as Taker and the two venues disagree by 15 USDT. MEXC bills 0.04% of the round trip, Bybit 0.055%. One trade is a rounding error. A year at the same pace is 780 USDT, and that is before the Spot rows, where MEXC charges Maker orders nothing at all. The schedules below come from the MEXC and Bybit fee pages, then the net after 30% cashback on each.

How do MEXC and Bybit trading fees compare?

MEXC is cheaper on all four regular rows. The widest gap is Spot Maker, which MEXC does not charge at all.

That is unusual. Most fee comparisons come down to one row being better and another being worse, so the answer depends on how you trade. Here it does not: whether you sit on the book or cross the spread, on Spot or on Futures, the MEXC number is the smaller one. It is the cheapest standard schedule among the ten venues we cover.

What the table cannot tell you is whether the pair you trade is liquid on both. That is the real qualifier, and the last section deals with it.

Who has lower Spot fees?

MEXC, and not by a little. Spot Maker is 0% against Bybit's 0.10%.

A 50,000 USDT Spot fill as Maker costs nothing on MEXC and 50 USDT on Bybit. As Taker it is 25 USDT against 50 USDT. If your Spot flow is mostly resting Limit Orders, the MEXC Spot bill rounds to zero and there is no cashback to collect, because there was no fee to begin with.

The 0% headline is the thing MEXC markets hardest, and it is worth being precise about what it covers. It is the Spot Maker row only. Spot Takers pay 0.05%, and every Futures row is charged normally. A trader who reads 0% and assumes it means the account is free will be surprised by the first Futures statement.

Bybit charges 0.10% on both Spot rows at VIP 0. EEA traders use bybit.eu under MiCA, which publishes its own schedule; the numbers here follow the global bybit.com table.

Who has lower Spot fees?

Who has lower Futures fees?

MEXC on both rows: 0.01% against 0.0200% Maker, and 0.04% against 0.055% Taker.

Maker is half. Taker is roughly a quarter cheaper. On a 50,000 USDT round trip that is 20 USDT against 27.50 USDT as Taker, and 5 USDT against 10 USDT as Maker.

Funding sits outside this table on both venues. It moves between longs and shorts rather than to the exchange, neither schedule discounts it, and on a held position it can dwarf the trading fee entirely. Trading fees are the line you actually control, through order type, VIP row and cashback.

Which VIP ladder cuts fees first?

Both ladders start at 30 day volume, and both leave MEXC ahead at the equivalent step.

Bybit VIP 1 opens at 10,000,000 USDT of 30 day derivatives volume or 100,000 USDT in assets, per the Bybit VIP programme. MEXC runs its own volume ladder on the MEXC fee page and adds an MX token holding route. Because MEXC starts lower on every regular row, an account at a comparable step on each ladder still pays less on MEXC.

This is the section to distrust most. VIP rows change without announcement, both venues run periodic zero fee promotions on selected pairs, and a screenshot from last quarter is worthless. Read the live row on the venue after you qualify, and treat any table you find elsewhere, including this one, as a starting point rather than a quote.

What do you pay after cashback?

Trade Reclaim returns 30% of the trading fees you pay on both venues, so the ranking does not flip.

Both bills fall by the same fraction, which means the comparison above survives the rebate intact: MEXC is cheaper before cashback and cheaper after it. What changes is the size of the gap in absolute terms, because 30% of a smaller bill is a smaller rebate.

There is one honest wrinkle. The MEXC Spot Maker row is 0%, and 30% of nothing is nothing. Cashback rewards the rows where you actually pay, so on Spot Maker flow the rebate has nothing to work with, while on Futures it applies to every fill.

You do not change how you trade to collect it. The link is your public UID, cashback pays in USDT, and you withdraw whenever you want.

What does one position cost?

A 50,000 USDT Futures position opened and closed as Taker costs 40 USDT on MEXC and 55 USDT on Bybit before cashback.

At 5 round trips a week that is 200 USDT a week on MEXC. Over 52 weeks: 10,400 USDT. With 30% back: 3,120 USDT returned, 7,280 USDT net. On Bybit the same year is 14,300 USDT before cashback, 4,290 USDT back, 10,010 USDT net. The difference is 2,730 USDT a year on identical trades.

As Maker the same year is 2,600 USDT on MEXC and 5,200 USDT on Bybit before cashback. A 10,000 USDT position at the same pace is a fifth of all of these figures.

Put your own size and pace into the cashback calculator. It prints a yearly bill, which is the number that matters, rather than a per trade figure small enough to ignore.

Who can actually open these accounts?

This compares the global MEXC and Bybit platforms, not every licensed local entity.

EEA traders use bybit.eu under MiCA, and its schedule differs from the global one used here. Japanese residents cannot use global Bybit: the exit completed on 22 July 2026. United States residents are outside both global platforms.

MEXC's licensing position is thinner than Bybit's, which matters more than the fee table if you are choosing where to keep a balance rather than where to route a trade. It is a genuine trade-off and the cheap schedule does not settle it.

So which is cheaper in 2026?

MEXC, on every regular row, before and after cashback. Whether it is the better venue is a different question.

Fees are one input. The other is what a trade actually costs you once it is filled, and on thin altcoin pairs the spread and the depth of the book move far more money than 0.015% of notional. Bybit's derivatives book is deeper on the majors, and on a large order that depth can be worth more than the entire fee gap.

So: MEXC if the fee table is the decision, if you trade the pairs it lists well, and especially if your Spot flow rests as Maker. Bybit if you want the deeper book, the terminal you already know, or bybit.eu for the EEA. Run your own size through the calculator before deciding, and read the live fee page on whichever you pick.

Frequently asked questions

Is MEXC cheaper than Bybit?

Yes, on every regular row. Spot Maker is 0% against 0.10%, Spot Taker 0.05% against 0.10%, Futures Maker 0.01% against 0.0200%, Futures Taker 0.04% against 0.055%. Trade Reclaim returns 30% of trading fees on both, so the ranking is the same after the rebate.

Is MEXC Spot trading really free?

Only the Maker row. A resting Limit Order that fills on MEXC Spot costs nothing. Spot Takers pay 0.05%, and Futures rows are charged normally at 0.01% Maker and 0.04% Taker. The 0% headline covers one row of four, not the account.

Which exchange has lower Futures fees?

MEXC on both rows. Maker is 0.01% against 0.0200% on Bybit, Taker 0.04% against 0.055%. A 50,000 USDT Taker round trip costs 40 USDT on MEXC and 55 USDT on Bybit. Funding is a separate payment between longs and shorts and is not discounted on either venue.

Can I get cashback on both MEXC and Bybit?

Yes. Trade Reclaim returns 30% of the trading fees you pay on each, in USDT, withdrawable whenever you want. The link is your public UID and cashback does not change your Maker or Taker schedule. Note that 30% of a 0% Spot Maker fee is still nothing: the rebate applies where you actually pay.

If MEXC is cheaper everywhere, why use Bybit?

Depth and jurisdiction. Bybit's derivatives book is deeper on the majors, and on a large order the spread you cross can cost more than the entire fee gap. Bybit also holds a MiCA licence for the EEA through bybit.eu. If you are choosing where to hold a balance rather than where to route a trade, that matters more than 0.015% of notional.

Do these fees change?

Regularly. Both venues adjust VIP thresholds and run promotional zero fee periods on selected pairs without much notice. The rates here were verified against the official MEXC and Bybit fee pages in August 2026. Read the live page before you size a position on any of them.
